WE HAVE TWO WEEKS TO GO!!

We are nearing the end of the 2023-24 school year, and graduation is right around the corner. The Taft staff would like to thank all of the Seniors for their commitment to finish strong! The Taft staff and students are planning and preparing for this year’s senior send-off and a wonderful graduation ceremony. Below, you will find a timeline of events and plans for graduation.  Please mark your calendars.  

• • May 28th to June 3rd: Senior Finals – Complete all assignments, projects, and assessments
  • Thursday, May 30th: Senior Finals & Senior Awards Night at Taft 7-12 at 6:00pm
  • Monday, June 3rd: Senior Finals
    • SENIOR PICTURES for SLIDE SHOW – LAST DAY to submit. 
    • Cap and Gown Parade permissions slips must be submitted to office by noon
  • Tuesday, June 4th: Senior Finals & Senior Check-Out at Taft 7-12 – 9:00am to 3:00pm
    • Moving Up Ceremony – AM Activity B Schedule (10:00AM)
    • Check-out form must be completed and turned into the counseling center in order to walk at graduation, receive diploma, and attend the Senior Send-Off
      • Return all LCSD materials, chromebooks, calculators, and books
      • Pay all fees – See Melissa Coggin (Make Checks Payable to “Taft 7-12”)
      • Return any athletic equipment
      • Edgeinuty Students’ Last Day of work submission
      • Senior Send-Off permissions slips must be submitted to the office by noon
  • Wednesday, June 5th: Cap & Gown Parade at Taft Elementary & Oceanlake Elementary
    • TO ATTEND: Permission slips must have been received by June 4th at noon to attend
    • Seniors Last Day of School: Last Chance check-out at at Taft 7-12 – 9:00am to 3:00pm
    • Senior Tea at Faith Baptist Church at 1:30 (Optional with Parent as a guest)
  • Thursday, June 6th: Senior Send-Off! Bus leaves Taft 7-12 at 8:30 AM
    • TO ATTEND:
      • Senior check-out must be completed and submitted to the counseling center by June 4th
      • Permission slips must have been received by June 4th at noon
      • Seniors must have no outstanding suspensions, fines, and be ready to walk at graduation 
  • Friday, June 7th: Graduation Practice
    • 8:30 am – Senior Breakfast 
    • 9:00 am – Graduation Practice: All graduates must be present for practice if they want to walk in the ceremony
    • Senior Lunch

• Saturday, June 8th: GRADUATION – 6 Tickets per Graduate handed out on May 15th, 2024

• • Location: Taft High School, Seniors arrive at 10:30
  • Doors Open at 10:45AM
