For your reference:
When should my child stay home from school?
Based on Oregon's When to Keep Your Child Home guidance, please keep your child home if they have:
• Fever (100.4°F/38°C or higher)
• A new cough illness that is frequent/severe enough to interfere with school
• Vomiting (2 or more unexplained episodes in 24 hours) or diarrhea (3 or more loose stools in 24 hours)
• Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath (seek medical care right away if severe)
Returning to school: Students may return when they have been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine and other symptoms are improving for at least 24 hours.

We’re excited to host our Valentine's Dance this Friday, February 6th from 3:20–5:00 PM in the commons! The dance is informal, so no need to worry about changing. Just wear your dance attire to school that day. Admission into the dance is $5.
Please review the following details and expectations so your student is prepared:
Getting Ready:
The dance begins right after school—there’s no time to go home first.
Students should wear their outfit/makeup to school.
No glitter may be brought to or applied at school.
During the Dance:
The dance is informal—just come ready to have fun!
All regular school rules apply. Unsafe behavior will result in being asked to leave.
If a student leaves the dance, they cannot re-enter.
Phones are allowed in the dance.
Other Notes:
Concessions will be available ($1–$4 items)
The dance ends promptly at 5:00 PM—students must have transportation arranged ahead of time as no buses will run after the dance.
There will be a home high school basketball games for those who wish to attend afterward.

On Satruday, February 7th Taft 7-12 will be hosting a dance for Taft High School students at the Pines Dine. Cost is $10.00 per person at the door. The dance starts at 8:00PM until 10:00PM. Come and dance the night away.

Oregon law requires students to be up to date on immunizations for school and child care.
Now is the time to catch up early and avoid long clinic wait times!
Important Deadlines
• January 14, 2026 – To avoid an exclusion letter
• February 25, 2026 – To attend school or child care without interruption
