Incoming 7th Graders (Current 6th Grade):
Meet middle school teachers, tour the campus, and learn what to expect in middle school.

Incoming 9th Graders (Current 8th Grade):
Learn about high school expectations, graduation credits, course offerings, and how to successfully transition into high school.

Current 9th–11th Grade Students and Families:
Meet with counselors and representatives from Oregon Coast Community College to explore dual credit, early college opportunities, and Honors Diploma requirements.

We look forward to welcoming students and families for an informative evening as we continue building a strong future together at Taft 7-12!

Taft 7-12 High school entered a Code Red Lockdown at 12:15 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, due to an unidentified person entering the building. They notified Taft Elementary to follow Code Red Lockdown procedures.

Lincoln City Police Department led the investigation, assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement located the individual of concern and there is no threat to either school.

Both schools were cleared to lift the Code Red Lockdown at about 12:48 p.m. but Taft 7-12 remained in a Code Yellow Lockdown while police continued investigating. Law enforcement lifted the Code Yellow Lockdown at 1:25 p.m.

Parents,

Student voice is a powerful tool for creating positive change, and we want students to know that their experiences matter.

We need your support!! Parents we want you to encourage your student to have a voice. All students have access to a student survey where they can provide their story and voice. Please, encourage your student to share their experiences.

At Taft 7–12, we believe that strong schools are built on belonging, respect, kindness, and meaningful relationships. Throughout April, students participated in our Tigers Stronger Together lessons focused on topics such as belonging, kindness, empathy, looking out for one another, and the Power of Language.

As part of our continued work, we are creating opportunities for students to share their voices and experiences. Students have been invited to submit stories, reflections, and experiences related to racism, microaggressions, and school culture. These student stories will help guide a student-created podcast and documentary project focused on understanding experiences, promoting empathy, and strengthening our school community.

Parents, we wanted to share this work with you so you are aware of the conversations and learning taking place at school. We appreciate your continued support as we work together to create a school culture where all students feel seen, valued, respected, and heard.

Tigers Stronger Together
Everyone belongs. Kindness matters. Our words and actions shape our school.
